I'm Jordan Ofurum, an agribusiness degree holder with 2 years of hands-on experience working with a Chinese farm company practicing integrated farming and consistent irrigation systems. This practical experience taught me advanced agricultural techniques that I'm excited to apply in my home community.

Project Location
My public garden will be located in Imo state, Nigeria, in a river basin area with very fertile ground - ideal conditions for growing nutrient-dense superfoods.
The FarmBlock Vision
FarmBlock is my innovative approach to public gardening that combines sustainable agriculture with technology and blockchain education. This project will focus on cultivating superfoods including:
- Goji berries
- Quinoa
- Golden berries
- Sweet corn
- Millet
This garden will benefit my local community by providing:
- Employment opportunities for local residents
- Competitive prices for nutritious foods
- Education and onboarding to regenerative finance and agriculture onchain
Technical Innovation
The garden will feature solar-powered irrigation systems that also power a mini tech hub on the farm. This combines farming with tech innovation and includes plans for open source software on the public blockchain to foster community growth and smart decision-making as decentralized farmsteads.
Maintenance Strategy
My maintenance plan centers on the integrated solar-powered irrigation system, which ensures consistent water supply while powering our tech infrastructure. The combination of renewable energy and smart farming techniques will keep the garden productive year-round.
To attract farmers and local residents to participate in this initiative, I will organize events and meetups often to educate on global regenerative practices, incentivized onboarding and sharing of subsidized farm inputs. This will forge a strong community and build a lasting network of superfood growers onchain.

FarmBlock is already live on KarmaGap and Gardens.fund - we're ready for exponential growth. This Public Gardens grant will help us scale our impact and reach more community members.
