Gardens Learning & Community Round Facilitation

Gardens Learning & Community Round Facilitation

I am a community steward for Breadchain, where I have been hosting weekly community calls since the end of 2023. My work focuses on bringing people together in solidarity, and I've seen rewarding emergent results like self-organized study groups forming from our events.

Solidarity Fist

As a community steward, I host weekly community calls and moderate Discord for Breadchain. Through this role, I've observed a community round run by Breadchain, which gave me valuable initial insight into how Gardens operates. However, I want to deepen my understanding significantly.

My Learning Goals:

I still need to better understand where Gardens funding comes from, who can vote to allocate funds, and how impact is tracked. These are crucial knowledge gaps I want to fill to become an effective community round facilitator.

My Approach:

I plan to dedicate consistent weekly time (starting with less than 1 hour currently, potentially expanding) to:

  • Navigate through ongoing rounds and ask questions to users and Gardens developers
  • Connect directly with both community members and technical team
  • Learn through hands-on engagement with the platform

Future Vision:

My goal is to run my first community round by the end of 2025 or beginning of 2026. I envision hosting an open-ended round where cryptoleftists with a variety of initiatives and interests can participate - all focused on mutual aid and post-capitalist projects.

Experience & Skills:

Nearly two years of consistent weekly community hosting has taught me how to facilitate diverse topics, structures, and participants. While I'm still learning how to create consistency and bring people together to act, I've successfully created spaces where emergent collaboration happens naturally.
