Current State Documentation
I have documented the current state of the trails where invasive broom plants need to be removed. The video showing the current state and planned work areas has been provided.
Park Care Plans
I will focus on removing invasive broom plants from the Upper Trailhead area of Mt. Tamalpais State Park. Work sessions will be conducted twice monthly on Saturdays, with each session lasting approximately 2 hours.
Waste Management
The removed broom plants will be left on the trail to decompose naturally, a method that has been approved by park rangers and confirmed not to risk reseeding.
Authorization
I have received official permission from Ranger Jim Justice to conduct this work in Mt. Tamalpais State Park.
Previous Experience
I have extensive experience in broom removal and trail maintenance work, having worked in Marin County forests for years.
Maintenance Strategy
- Regular twice-monthly maintenance schedule
- Focus on systematic removal of broom plants
- Documentation of work through photos and progress updates
- Coordination with park rangers on best practices
- Regular monitoring of treated areas to prevent regrowth
