I'm Kelseyfaith, an ambassador for the Arhuaco community in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta Mountains of Colombia. For the past two years, I've lived with and supported this indigenous community, helping them share their traditional crafts with a wider audience.

The Tu Tu bags (mochilas) are traditional handwoven bags that tell the story of Arhuaco wisdom through their intricate designs. Each bag is a unique piece of cultural heritage, crafted through a meditative process that's deeply integrated into the artisans' daily lives.
Materials and Production
- Primary materials: Sheep wool from community-raised sheep
- Alternative materials: Cotton and Bechu (native agave plant) when available
- Production timeline: 1-3 months per bag
- Traditional process: From harvesting materials to spinning yarn to final weaving
Every Tu Tu bag directly supports the Arhuaco women artisans and their families. The proceeds help them:
- Secure essential food and supplies
- Maintain their traditional way of life
- Care for their animals
- Continue their cultural practices
- Support their families' livelihoods
Production Capacity and Pricing
- Monthly capacity: Up to 50 bags through various Arhuaco communities
- Price range: $30-$200 USD, depending on size and materials
- Fair compensation: All proceeds go directly to the artisans
- Sustainable practice: Materials sourced from community-raised animals and plants
