Uganda Skateboarding Impact

About Me

I'm Isaac Huston, a skateboarder from Kampala, Uganda, inspired by Nyjah Houston's skating style. I've been skating since I was 15, focusing on both street and park skating.

Community Connection

BlockNote image

I joined the Gnars community through Prop 47 and was onboarded through Prop 50. Since then, I've been on an incredible Nounish journey through web3. I'm deeply passionate about Gnars, Skatehive, and Nouns, and I'm committed to representing these communities while onboarding other Ugandan skateboarders to the ecosystem.

Impact Vision

Through the Kampala Skateboard Initiative, I'm creating meaningful impact in several ways:

Education:

  • Providing free workshops on skating techniques and safety
  • Supporting formal education through tuition assistance for program participants
  • Teaching responsible skating practices

Community Building:

  • Creating a sense of belonging and camaraderie among local youth
  • Combating drug use and gang lifestyle through positive engagement
  • Organizing regular training sessions and outreach programs
  • Breaking down traditional boundaries and barriers in our community

Diversity and Inclusion:

  • Welcoming skaters from all backgrounds, genders, ages, and cultures
  • Launching initiatives to showcase diverse faces in skateboarding
  • Providing a platform for self-expression and empowerment
