I'm Acutek, a DJ and producer based in Scotland, focused on house and techno music. I've been actively building the electronic music scene in my local area by organizing regular events.

Musical Style

I specialize in house and techno music, creating immersive dance experiences. My events focus on electronic music that gets people moving and creates a proper club atmosphere.

Public Performance Plan

I currently run events in the function room of a local hotel, transforming it into a vibrant nightclub space. With no dedicated nightclubs in the area, I've taken the initiative to build the scene from scratch. This involves:

• Complete setup and breakdown of sound and lighting equipment for each event
• Creating an immersive atmosphere in a versatile space
• Maintaining affordable entry at £8 per person
• Hosting 60-100 attendees per event (venue capacity: 100)

The next FLICK event is confirmed for March 8th at the Carlton Hotel (upstairs function room). This event will feature:

• Pseudopolis B2B Natural Sass (Headliners)
• Acutek
• Josh Davidson
• House and techno music focus

Nounish Integration

I plan to incorporate Nouns culture through:

• Custom gobo light projections featuring Noggles designs (immediate implementation)
• Working toward a permanent neon Noggles sign for future events
• Incorporating these visual elements into event promotion and documentation
• Noggles already featured on event flyers and promotional materials

Experience & Past Performances

I've been organizing quarterly events under the FLICK brand, successfully building a consistent following. The December 2024 event (pictured) showcases our current setup and atmosphere.

Future Plans

With this grant, I aim to:

1. Invest in a dedicated sound system to reduce reliance on rental equipment
2. Enhance visual production with improved lighting and Nouns-themed elements
3. Bring in guest artists including UK Techno artists and potentially artists from Soma Records (historic Scottish techno label known for early Daft Punk releases)

While reducing frequency to two major events in the coming year, each event will be bigger and better with increased production value and guest performers.

Project Timeline

• March 8th, 2025: Next confirmed FLICK event with Noggles gobo light integration, headlined by Pseudopolis B2B Natural Sass
• April-May 2025: Purchase and installation of permanent Nouns sign for events
• Summer/Autumn 2025: Sound system investment and equipment upgrades
• December 2025: Major event featuring a UK Techno artist with full Nouns branding integration
