Project Overview

I plan to organize monthly cleanups of a polluted river area in New Nyanya, Nassarawa that is currently being used as a dump site. As shown in the image below, the area has accumulated significant trash and debris, which is harmful to both the environment and the local community. Through regular cleanups, I aim to restore this waterway and surrounding area to a cleaner, healthier state.

Scope and Timeline

I will organize and conduct monthly cleanup sessions at the river site for a full year. Each session will involve collecting and properly disposing of trash, clearing debris from the waterway, and gradually improving the overall condition of the area. The project will begin as soon as funding is approved and continue with consistent monthly cleanups.

Location and Implementation

• Project location: River area in New Nyanya, Nassarawa that is currently being used as a dump site
• Materials needed:
  • Gloves for all participants
  • Trash bags for waste collection
  • Rakes and other cleanup tools
  • Transportation for collected waste
  • Refreshments for volunteers

I will source these materials responsibly and ensure proper disposal of all collected waste.

Nounish Elements

I will incorporate Nouns/Noggles into the project by wearing Nouns-themed shirts during the cleanup activities. This will help create awareness about both the environmental initiative and the Nouns community among local residents and volunteers.

Local Compliance

I have a plan to handle any necessary permissions from local authorities to conduct cleanup activities near the river in New Nyanya. I will ensure all activities comply with local regulations regarding waste disposal and environmental protection.
