About Me
We are Build a DAO [BaD], a team deeply embedded in grassroots Web3 community building across Africa, particularly in Kenya, Nigeria, and Cameroon. We've organized developer residencies, buildathons, and governance experiments that prioritize local context, storytelling, and play.
Our team includes:
- 12 DAO-native coordinators with experience in decentralized decision-making and governance tooling
- Creatives and meme-makers who've led cultural content campaigns for African tech communities
- Educators and facilitators experienced in simplifying complex concepts through visuals, storytelling, and analog methods

Content Format
We will create a mix of visual and written content:
- Meme Collections: 50+ governance memes created by Kenyan communities
- Toolkit: "How to Meme a Constitution" guide in Notion + PDF format
- Zine: Printable deck for local DAOs
- Video: Documentary recap of the process
- Blog Post: Detailed case study on Mirror
- Social Media: Farcaster threads and Twitter Spaces

Portfolio and Previous Work
The Meme Constitution is a new but well-scaffolded initiative that builds on our previous educational and creative work. We've already developed a complete toolkit (tailored for Kenya) with step-by-step flows, example meme prompts, and a ratification process. We've also identified several local communities we could pilot this with — including Nairobi-based creative collectives, DAO-curious student groups, and neighborhood-based cooperatives.
Content Strategy
Our content will focus on translating abstract DAO concepts into culturally resonant memes that express the values, principles, and rules of local communities. The project will unfold over 10 weeks:
Weeks 1–2: Finalize partnerships with local creative hubs & facilitators. Prep workshop materials. Translate toolkit into Kiswahili/Sheng.
Weeks 3–5: Run 3 in-person workshops in Nairobi, Kisumu, and Ongata Rongai. Launch meme creation sprints.
Weeks 6–7: Community reaction phase: meme voting, remixing, and discussion.
Week 8: Host 3 Ratification Events to finalize each community's Meme Constitution.
Week 9: Collect feedback, document outcomes, finalize toolkit + zine.
Week 10: Publish toolkit, video recap, and blog post. Submit to flows.wtf and Nouns community.
Distribution Plan
We will share and promote our content through multiple channels:
- Local Networks: WhatsApp/Telegram groups, community centers, and creative hubs in Kenya
- Web3 Platforms: Mirror for blog posts, Farcaster for updates, and optional NFT minting
- Social Media: Twitter/X, Instagram, and TikTok with targeted outreach to African Web3 communities
- DAO Ecosystem: Presentations at Nouns Agora calls and other DAO forums
- Educational Platforms: Integration into Build a DAO's residency programs and workshops
We will engage the community through:
- Participatory Workshops: 3 interactive workshops in different Kenyan locations
- Co-Creation: Community members will create and vote on memes that represent their governance values
- Ratification Events: Public celebrations where top memes are "ratified" as the local constitution
- Facilitator & Artist Stipends: Paying local meme artists, writers, and youth organizers
- Open-Source Resources: Sharing all materials for other communities to adapt and remix
Content Impact
The Meme Constitution will contribute to growing the Nouns society by:
- Lowering Barriers: Making governance accessible through visual storytelling and humor
- Localizing Web3: Bringing nounish values to African communities through culturally relevant formats
- Creating Models: Developing replicable, open-source governance approaches that other DAOs can adopt
- Amplifying Voices: Elevating local humor, culture, and values as legitimate inputs to decentralized governance
- Building Bridges: Connecting the Nouns ecosystem with emerging Web3 communities in Africa
Our success will be measured through both quantitative outputs (3 workshops, 100+ memes, 3 ratified constitutions) and qualitative impact (increased understanding, stronger sense of ownership, cultural representation).
