Nouns to the Rescue: Behind the Scenes of Stopmotion Series

Nouns to the Rescue: Behind the Scenes of Stopmotion Series

About Me

I'm an animator and visual artist with over 8 years of experience in the animation industry. Through my independent studio project, Yuyarikuna Films, I've worked with clients such as Meta, Nickelodeon, WWF, and BirdLife Europe, focusing on paper animation techniques. My work develops a unique aesthetic inspired by Latin America, drawing on the region's colors, graphic styles, and a constant inspiration from nature.

For the past year, I've been actively building with Nouns. I first connected with Nouns Amigos, of which I'm now a part, and began creating animations for the Rounds of Nouns Animators, Nouns Amigos, and the Yellow Collective, with whom I collaborated on an NFT project that was featured on Base.

Most recently, at the end of the year, I received a grant from Nouns Amigos to create an animated series titled "Nouns to the Rescue: No Animals, No Stories". It's a mini-series for social media featuring six endangered animals from Latin American wildlife, portrayed as Nouns. Through this project, we explore the challenges these species face and highlight the individual and collective actions we can take to help protect them.

Content Strategy

I will release weekly behind-the-scenes content covering:

  • Character design process for each endangered animal
  • Building techniques for the paper cut-out characters and sets
  • Making-of footage showing animation in progress
  • Inspiration sources from Latin American wildlife and aesthetics
  • Storytelling development for conservation messaging

Each piece will not only showcase the animation techniques but also educate viewers about the endangered species featured in the series.

Distribution Plan

I will share all content across multiple platforms:

  • Farcaster: Regular posts with process videos and images
  • Twitter: Sharing content and engaging with the broader Nouns community
  • Instagram: Visual documentation of the animation process

This multi-platform approach ensures maximum visibility for both the creative process and the conservation message.

Community Engagement

I will actively engage with the Nouns community by:

  • Posting in the Nouns Channel on Farcaster
  • Collaborating with and tagging Nouns communities like Nouns Amigos and Lilinouners
  • Responding to questions about the animation process
  • Highlighting the connection between Nouns culture and conservation efforts

Content Impact

By documenting the creation of "Nouns to the Rescue," I will:

  • Showcase how traditional animation techniques can be used to tell nounish stories
  • Raise awareness about endangered Latin American species
  • Demonstrate how art can be used for environmental education
  • Connect the Nouns aesthetic with conservation messaging
  • Inspire other creators to use their skills for positive impact

This project embodies nounish values by creating positive externalities (conservation awareness), embracing the unique aesthetics of Latin American art, and using creativity to educate about important environmental issues.
