We Fund Creators Who Assemble & Ship “Builder Kits” to Nouns Collaborators
Payment Structure
- Baseline: Each approved “Builder Kit” creator receives ~$100 USDC per month.
- Additional Rewards: Further compensation for shipping higher volumes, strong kit quality, or exceptional feedback from recipients.
- Continuous Flow: Payments stream automatically every second, as long as kit-creation requirements are met.
How to Apply
Include the following in your application:
- Personal Information
- Name, contact details, social handles.
- Proposed Kit Concept
- Describe the physical “Builder Kits” you plan to produce and ship (e.g., paper Noggles, stickers, quick-start guides, mini pamphlets about Nouns, small branded items).
- Explain how these kits help existing Nouns builders or new folks who want to join.
- Production & Logistics
- Outline how you’ll source or create kit components.
- Note how you’ll handle packaging, shipping, and any associated costs.
- Past Shipping/Logistics Experience
- If you’ve previously shipped similar items, share examples.
- If you’re new, show your plan for ensuring reliable delivery.
- Fee
- An application fee (returned if you meet program requirements).
Ongoing Requirements
- Regular Kit Production
- Send at least one batch of kits each month to relevant recipients (e.g., meetups, athletes, content creators, etc.).
- Send to a diverse population of builders, not the same builders every time
- Document & Showcase
- Post at least twice monthly on Farcaster in /nouns or /flows, showing photos of the prepared kits, packaging, or shipping process.
- Provide short recaps of where the kits went (e.g., “Shipped 25 kits to a Nounish meetup in Chicago”), respecting privacy.
- Gather Feedback
- Whenever possible, encourage recipients to share quick testimonials—how the kits helped them or boosted their projects.
- Summarize this feedback in your updates.
- Maintain Quality
- Kits should be physically well-made (no sloppy printing, flimsy materials, etc.).
- Ensure instructions or included info is correct, helpful, and Nounish.
- Legally Compliant & Safe
- Follow shipping regulations for your region and the recipients’ regions.
- Avoid shipping anything restricted or hazardous.
- Cost Awareness
- Factor in sustainable or eco-friendly packaging if feasible; keep shipping costs in mind to avoid budget blowouts.
Embody Nounish Values
- Helpfulness: Proactively fill real needs—what do these builders actually benefit from?
- Positive Community: Provide upbeat, well-designed materials that reflect Nounish culture.
- Inclusivity & Accessibility: Try to make kits easy to use, even for novices who are new to the project.
- Environmental Mindfulness: Use minimal plastic and consider biodegradable or recyclable packaging.
- Respect: Only share or display shipping details with permission. Avoid doxxing recipients.
How to Post Updates
At least twice monthly on Farcaster in /nouns or /flows:
- Kit Preparation
- Photos or brief videos showing your layout, printing, bundling, or assembly line.
- Shipping & Recipients
- Share how many kits you sent out, and to which general region or Flow category (e.g., “to Nounish meetup organizers on the East Coast”).
- Feedback or Testimonials
- If possible, quote or screenshot recipients’ comments on how the kits improved their events, selfies, or creations.
- Any Lessons Learned
- E.g., shipping delays, packaging challenges, or ways you improved kit design.
- Next Steps
- Summarize future shipments or new kit variants you’re testing.
Verification Methods
- Visual Evidence: Regular photos or short clips of the assembled kits, shipping labels, or boxes.
- Recipient Confirmation: Recipients can verify they got your package and share their experiences.
- Community Feedback: If your kits are actually helping, other Nounish builders should mention it positively in /nouns or /flows.
- Shipping Consistency: Steady monthly output rather than big surges once in a while with no follow-up.
Maintaining Your Funding
- Ship Monthly: Keep a rhythm of at least one batch of kits each month.
- Document Thoroughly: Prove your shipments with updates and visuals.
- Maintain Quality: Don’t let the kit’s contents degrade in usefulness or presentation.
- Follow Local & International Shipping Rules: No repeated issues with customs or restricted items.
- Stay Responsive: Answer questions from the community about what’s in the kits or shipping methods.
Reasons for Removal
- No Shipments/Updates for more than 6 weeks.
- Poor Quality: Repeated feedback that items are defective, incomplete, or unhelpful.
- Lack of Engagement: Disregarding repeated curator queries or ignoring recipients’ needs.
- Misuse of Funds: Overcharging or never actually shipping.
- Harmful or Prohibited Materials in the kits.
- Failure to Keep Content Nounish: Kits that deviate from the Nounish brand or violate community values.
Keeping It Fresh
- Iterate on Kit Contents: Add new freebies, better instructions, or new “how-to” guides.
- Collaborate with Other Flow Categories: See what athletes, meetup organizers, or artists might need to help them succeed.
- Create Themed Packages: E.g., special holiday or region-specific kits.
- Crowdsource Suggestions: Invite the community to suggest improvements or add small personal touches.
For Curators
- Budget Threshold
- Do not accept new kit-creator applications if the baseline pay for all approved participants would drop below $100 monthly.
- If external budget changes force the baseline below $100, no new approvals until funding recovers.
- Evaluate Impact
- If a kit maker’s updates show minimal or no effect, while new applicants demonstrate strong potential, consider removal.
- Spot Check Shipping
- Occasionally reach out to random recipients to confirm they got the kits.
- Watch for Scalping
- If the kit maker is reselling or repackaging trivial materials at an absurd markup, take action.
- Encourage Variation
- Possibly guide creators to supply different styles of kits if the community signals new needs.
Remember: This category funds those who physically equip Nounish builders with tangible resources—paper Noggles, instructions, stickers, gear, or anything that helps them spread the meme and build more effectively. If you reliably produce and ship quality “Builder Kits” to the right people, you’ll receive ongoing support from this Flow.
